Architectural Technologist / BIM Manager

Architectural Technologist / BIM Manager

London – Hybrid Working

Architectural Technologist ready to make the move into BIM Management? Take on the Revit and BIM lead role in a London practice, with a proper handover and two days a week at home.

The Company

This well-established firm have forged a fantastic reputation for delivering projects within the Healthcare, Education and also Science & Research sectors. As such, they can offer any Architecture professional an array of interesting schemes to tackle throughout their appointment.

The Opportunity

Are you a Revit-proficient Architectural Technologist with a real passion for BIM? Have you been looking for the chance to take on BIM Manager responsibilities without losing hands-on project involvement? If so, this London-based role could be exactly what you're after.

This is an Architectural Technologist position first and foremost, with BIM Manager duties built in. You'll be the "go-to" person in the office for all things Revit and BIM, presenting to and mentoring colleagues and helping the team get the very best from the software and the process.

With a close-knit team of around 20 people, the BIM Manager side of the role is manageable rather than overwhelming. At any one time you'll oversee one or two medium-sized projects plus a few smaller ones, and you'll have the backing of the BIM Manager in the firm's other office.

The role has become available because a valued member of the team is retiring at the end of the year. The firm would ideally like someone in place in November, so you'll benefit from a proper handover period with your predecessor and a much smoother transition into the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing high-quality packages in Revit across a variety of Healthcare, Education and Science & Research schemes
  • Taking BIM Manager responsibility for a small number of projects
  • Acting as the main point of contact for Revit and BIM queries, presenting to and mentoring colleagues
  • Helping to maintain and develop BIM standards and workflows across the office
  • Working closely with the wider design team to deliver well-coordinated, technically robust information

About You

  • Architectural Technology degree or similar relevant qualification
  • Advanced skills in BIM and Revit
  • Demonstrable experience within the UK Architecture industry
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant codes
  • A confident communicator who enjoys presenting and mentoring others

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary – likely to be in the region of £50k-£58k
  • Flexible hybrid setup with the option to work from home two days a week, ideal if you're travelling into London
  • A genuine step into BIM Manager responsibility, with a handover period and ongoing support
  • A varied portfolio of projects within a range of sectors
  • A friendly, small-firm environment where your input is valued
