A highly reputable, design-led Chartered Architectural Practice in Tadcaster is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join their team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of residential projects, including work on listed and heritage buildings and projects within Conservation Areas.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, 60-year-old Chartered Practice based in a purpose-built, open-plan studio in a charming semi-rural setting, just a short walk from a vibrant market town with excellent local amenities and free parking. The studio has a collaborative culture, with a talented mix of Architects, Designers, and Technologists, including several accredited in Building Conservation, many of whom have built long careers within the practice.
The practice delivers varied projects across Residential Living, Ecclesiastical, Conservation & Heritage, and Commercial sectors, offering the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of technical and design challenges.
The Role
We are looking for an Architectural Technologist with strong technical delivery experience to work across a varied portfolio of projects. The role is focused on technical design, detailing, and project delivery, with opportunities to take responsibility for packages and, depending on experience, manage projects through key stages.
A genuine interest in Conservation & Heritage work is essential, and the practice actively supports career development, including specialist conservation training and accreditation pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality technical drawings and documentation across multiple project types.
- Develop detailed design and construction information across relevant RIBA stages.
- Coordinate technical packages and liaise with consultants and contractors.
- Assist with or lead projects through technical stages, including site support.
- Contribute to project meetings and collaborate closely with the wider team.
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical and regulatory standard.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC qualified Architectural Technologist (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a UK architectural practice, particularly in technical delivery.
- Strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
- Experience across Residential and/or Conservation & Heritage projects is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and confident working across multiple projects.
- Keen to develop professionally within a supportive, long-established practice.
