A highly regarded, design-led Chartered Architectural practice based in York is seeking an Architectural Technologist (1–3 years’ experience) to join its growing team.
With a team of 20 across its York headquarters and a recently established London studio, the practice is recognised for delivering one of the strongest and most diverse portfolios in the Yorkshire region. Continued organic growth has created an opportunity for a talented Technologist to join a busy and collaborative smaller projects team.
The Role
You will join a team of four, working closely with the team leader delivering up to 15 live projects at any one time. Projects range from private residential extensions to small housing developments, working from feasibility through to site services and contract administration.
This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys managing multiple projects and can work confidently with a degree of independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing projects from feasibility through to completion
- Preparing and submitting planning applications
- Producing detailed technical drawing packages
- Working through RIBA Stages 1–6, with strong involvement at Stage 4 (Tender)
- Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and local design codes (including York Design Code)
- Supporting site services and contract administration
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors
Requirements
- 1–3 years’ experience in an Architectural Technologist role
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (essential)
- Photoshop and InDesign skills
- Good working knowledge of Building Regulations
- Experience submitting and managing planning applications
- Strong understanding of RIBA Stage 4 tender process
- Ability to manage workload independently without micromanagement
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills

Please note: Due to the collaborative and fast-paced nature of the role, this is an office-based position with no home working.
Salary & Benefits
- £28,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
