Architectural Technologist

A collaborative, national award-winning Architectural Practice is looking to appoint a talented Architectural Technologist to join their Leeds City Centre studio.

The successful Architectural Technologist, with ideally 3–5 years’ experience, will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of a well-established practice employing 60+ staff across five national offices. The team has been accredited to an Investors in People (IIP) Gold standard and is recognised as one of the highest-performing architecture practices on the IIP international database.

They offer a diverse and engaging portfolio of projects across multiple sectors including Education (their traditional strength), as well as Commercial & Industrial, Healthcare, Leisure & Arts, Residential, and Sports/Recreational. Many projects are also within conservation areas or involve heritage elements.

Role & Responsibilities of the Architectural Technologist

  • Assist in the technical delivery of projects, working collaboratively within project teams.
  • Contribute to the production of planning and construction drawing packages, including drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Support project delivery across a range of RIBA stages, particularly stages 3–5.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and statutory authorities as required.
  • Coordinate information with external consultants and internal team members.
  • Work closely with senior team members while continuing to develop technical and professional skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Architectural Technologist with approximately 3–5 years’ experience within an Architectural Practice.
  • Experience working on projects through planning and technical stages.
  • Good knowledge of UK building regulations, planning policy, and construction detailing.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Experience using REVIT is highly desirable.
