My client is a leading independent development and construction consultancy, recognised for delivering high-quality, value-driven services across the built environment. With an impressive portfolio of projects across sectors including education, residential, health, commercial, and regeneration.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their established cost and commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to progress their career.

The Role

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support senior team members in delivering a wide range of cost and commercial management services across multiple project stages. You’ll gain exposure to diverse clients and sectors, working on exciting schemes that are shaping communities across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, cost plans and tender documentation.
  • Undertake measurement and quantification of works for procurement and valuation purposes.
  • Support in tender analysis, contractor negotiation and contract award recommendations.
  • Assist in the management of project costs, variations, valuations and final accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain project cost reports and assist in forecasting and cashflow management.

About You

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Ideally 1–2 years’ experience within a cost consultancy, PQS, or construction environment.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and eager to learn from experienced professionals.
  • Progressing towards, or keen to pursue, MRICS or equivalent professional membership.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
