This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate Building Surveyor who is looking to combine project delivery with leadership, client development and mentoring responsibilities within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will lead the delivery of a wide range of building surveying projects from initial concept through to completion. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help drive the continued growth of the Norwich office, develop client relationships across East Anglia and support the development of junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading building surveying projects from inception through to completion.
- Managing all project stages including feasibility studies, planning applications, building regulations, procurement and contract administration.
- Preparing specifications, tender documentation and contract documentation.
- Administering JCT contracts and undertaking site inspections throughout project delivery.
- Project managing schemes with values up to £5 million.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Managing project budgets, programmes and commercial performance.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
- Supporting the growth of the Norwich Building Surveying team through mentoring and coaching graduate and apprentice surveyors.
- Working alongside senior management to contribute to the continued success and expansion of the office.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
- Post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
- Strong project management and contract administration experience.
- Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts and NBS specification writing.
- Experience managing project finances, fee proposals and commercial performance.
- A proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Previous experience mentoring or managing junior surveyors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A genuine interest in contributing to business development and supporting the continued growth of the East Anglia office.
Experience working across sectors such as education, commercial, healthcare, defence, industrial or residential would be highly advantageous.
