Associate Quantity Surveyor

A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Milton Keynes office. This role offers the opportunity to take a key leadership position within a well-respected cost management practice, working across a diverse portfolio of projects and clients.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing commercial delivery, providing strategic cost advice, and supporting the continued development of the regional team. You’ll work closely with directors and clients to deliver best-in-class service across sectors, including retail, commercial, residential, and infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Associate-level Quantity Surveyor looking for autonomy, progression, and the chance to shape the growth of a thriving consultancy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of cost management services from feasibility through to final account.
  • Oversee the preparation of tender and contract documentation, procurement, valuations, and cost reporting.
  • Manage and mentor junior surveyors, supporting their technical and professional development.
  • Provide robust commercial advice to clients, supporting decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Chair key commercial meetings and liaise with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Administer contracts (JCT and NEC) and ensure best practice in risk, value, and cost management.
  • Contribute to business development and support the regional leadership team.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong technical background and leadership experience across multiple sectors.
  • Excellent understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Confident communicator with proven client-facing experience.
  • MRICS qualified (or working towards chartership).
