ASSOCIATE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Are you an experienced Structural Engineer ready to step up into an Associate-level role? This could be an excellent opportunity to take on greater responsibility, lead exciting projects and play a key role in the continued growth of a thriving structural engineering team.

Our client is an established and highly regarded consultancy seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join its Leeds office. This is a senior, client-facing position offering the chance to take ownership of projects, develop strong client relationships and help mentor the next generation of engineers.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of building projects, spanning commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare, leisure and refurbishment. From initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction, there will be plenty of scope to demonstrate technical expertise, project leadership and commercial awareness.

Alongside project delivery, the role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, attending client and design meetings, reviewing technical work, managing programmes and resources, and providing guidance to junior and less experienced engineers. There will also be opportunities to contribute to fee proposals, business development and the continued expansion of the Leeds team.

Candidates should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and ideally be Chartered with IStructE or ICE, or close to achieving Chartership. Strong consultancy experience within building structures is essential, together with sound technical knowledge across materials including steel, concrete, masonry and timber.

A good understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes and CDM is expected, along with proven experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills are important, as the role offers significant client-facing responsibility and the opportunity to build lasting professional relationships.

In return, our client offers a competitive salary and benefits package, annual salary reviews, 26 days' holiday rising to 31 with loyalty days plus bank holidays, hybrid working, excellent training and development, mentoring from industry experts and strong opportunities for career progression.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Senior Structural Engineer looking to take the next step and make a genuine impact at Associate level within a growing Leeds-based team.
