The Role
Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of commercial property instructions, developing the skills and competencies required to successfully complete your APC.
No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work on both professional and project-based commissions across a varied property portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with building surveys and technical inspections.
- Preparing schedules of condition and dilapidations.
- Supporting the delivery of contract administration services.
- Assisting with refurbishment and maintenance projects.
- Carrying out defect diagnosis and preparing technical reports.
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
- Preparing specifications and tender documentation.
- Attending client meetings and site visits.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Working towards achieving MRICS through the APC pathway.
About You
The successful candidate will be motivated, eager to learn and committed to building a long-term career within Building Surveying.
Requirements
- BSc (or equivalent) in Building Surveying.
- Working towards APC or intending to enrol.
- Previous experience within a consultancy or private practice environment (placement year experience will also be considered).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
