Building Surveyor

A leading multidisciplinary property and built environment consultancy is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join its expanding Leeds team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Building Surveyor looking to progress towards MRICS, with full support through a structured APC programme and an experienced local Building Surveying team.

You’ll work across a varied portfolio of commercial, industrial, educational and other property assets, gaining valuable exposure to both professional and project-based Building Surveying work.

The Role

You’ll be involved in a broad range of Building Surveying services, including:

  • Undertaking building and condition surveys.
  • Preparing specifications and schedules of work.
  • Contract administration and project management.
  • Clerk of works and site inspections.
  • Building defect analysis and reporting.
  • Preparing schedules of dilapidations.
  • Supporting dilapidations negotiations.
  • Advising on building design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment.
  • Attending client and project meetings.
  • Obtaining estimates and assisting with planned maintenance programmes.
  • Supporting senior surveyors on complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Supervising building works on site.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A relevant RICS-accredited degree, ideally 2:1 or above.
  • Building Surveying experience within a consultancy environment.
  • A genuine ambition to achieve MRICS through the APC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and NBS experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • A proactive and professional approach.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
