Chartered Building Surveyor
Oxford | £45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits
Due to continued success and expansion within our client’s Building Surveying team in Oxford, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Building Surveyor seeking their next career move, with a clear pathway to Senior Surveyor and beyond.
This is an active and varied role, combining time in the office with regular visits to client sites across the UK. The position offers exposure to a diverse workload and the chance to work closely with prestigious clients across a range of sectors.
The Role
You will be joining a growing team focused on several key client accounts, providing technical building surveying expertise to organisations with national property portfolios. As the team develops, you will be expected to demonstrate the capability to support and eventually manage junior staff, assisting with workload planning, project delivery, and mentoring.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing detailed briefs in conjunction with clients and senior colleagues
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development initiatives
- Producing designs and specifications, including tender documentation
- Administering JCT building contracts
- Delivering a wide range of professional surveying services, including condition surveys, defect diagnosis, party wall matters, dilapidations, and reinstatement cost assessments
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and external consultants
- Assisting with mentoring junior staff and maintaining control of project finances
About You
- MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor
- Experience advising on commercial, retail, or education properties (public or private sector)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Familiarity with NBS Chorus desirable but not essential
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel nationally
- Excellent communication skills and strong commercial awareness
