Contracts Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established and growing construction contractor delivering high-profile refurbishment and fit-out projects across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Contracts Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple complex projects within live and operational environments.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to a high standard and within budget.

 

The Role of the Contracts Manager:

 

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from contract award through to successful completion and handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple refurbishment and fit-out projects from commencement through to completion

  • Leading and supporting Site Managers, Project Managers and wider project teams

  • Managing subcontractors and maintaining strong supply-chain relationships

  • Monitoring project programmes, costs and commercial performance

  • Managing procurement and subcontract packages

  • Working closely with clients, consultants and stakeholders

  • Identifying and managing project risks

  • Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements

  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality

  • Attending site and client meetings

  • Providing regular updates and reporting on project progress

  • Supporting the commercial team with variations, valuations and contractual matters

  • Ensuring successful project handover and close-out

 

Requirements of the Contracts Manager:

 

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in construction, refurbishment or fit-out.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience managing multiple construction projects

  • Experience within refurbishment, fit-out or complex commercial environments

  • Strong knowledge of construction programmes and project delivery

  • Excellent subcontractor and supply-chain management skills

  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness

  • Experience managing client relationships

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against tight programmes

  • A relevant construction qualification or equivalent industry experience

Experience working within live or operational environments would be highly advantageous.
