Conrad Consulting is recruiting for a senior appointment within the construction consultancy sector in Melbourne.
We are keen to speak with experienced construction professionals who have a strong background in data centre developments and the commercial experience to take on a senior leadership position.
This opportunity offers a combination of project oversight, client management and business development, with considerable scope to influence the future direction of the business.
The ideal candidate will already have an established network within the Australian construction market and a proven ability to develop new business alongside managing complex construction projects.
Responsibilities of the Director
This is a commercially focused leadership role suited to someone who enjoys both the technical and business development aspects of construction consultancy.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing new client relationships and identifying opportunities within the data centre and critical infrastructure sectors.
- Overseeing the successful delivery of complex construction projects.
- Providing senior-level project management advice to clients and key stakeholders.
- Managing project teams, consultants and contractors throughout the construction process.
- Taking responsibility for project financial performance, programme management and risk.
- Preparing commercial proposals and negotiating new appointments.
- Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients while developing new business opportunities.
- Supporting the recruitment, management and development of technical staff.
- Contributing to business planning and longer-term commercial objectives.
Requirements of the Director
We would be interested in speaking with candidates currently operating at Director, Project Director or senior management level within construction consultancy or project delivery.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive experience within the Australian construction industry, ideally 15 years or more.
- A strong background in data centre construction, including large-scale or technically complex developments.
- Previous experience working in a consultancy, developer or main contractor environment.
- An established network of industry contacts and a track record of developing client relationships.
- Experience winning work and taking responsibility for commercial performance.
- Strong knowledge of construction project delivery, including design coordination, procurement, building services and commissioning.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and providing leadership across major projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A commercially driven approach and the confidence to operate at a senior level.
