We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join a busy and fast-paced project environment in Glasgow. The Document Controller will play a vital role in managing, organising, and maintaining all project documentation across multiple departments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient document flow at all times. This Document Controller position is ideal for someone highly organised, detail-focused, and confident working within engineering, construction, or project-led environments.

As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring that all documents are correctly logged, stored, and distributed using internal document management systems. The Document Controller will support project teams by maintaining version control, tracking revisions, and ensuring that the latest information is always accessible. This Document Controller role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment. Every Document Controller in the team contributes to the smooth delivery of major projects by ensuring documentation is accurate, compliant, and well maintained.

The successful Document Controller will be proactive, methodical, and confident managing large volumes of technical and project documentation. This Document Controller role offers excellent exposure to major projects and the opportunity to develop within a structured and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control all incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Maintain accurate filing systems using document control software (e.g. SharePoint, Aconex, or similar)
  • Ensure correct version control and document revisions are followed at all times
  • Distribute documents to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Support project teams with administrative and reporting duties
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project information

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller or in a similar administrative/project support role
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience using document management systems (DMS)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment
