Document Controller

Currently working with one of our longstanding clients who are a cornerstone in UK Architecture, they are looking for a Document Controller to join their team in Bristol. It would suit someone at the start of their career in the architectural sector, or an administrator ready to move into a more specialist role.

You’ll be the person who keeps project information accurate, organised and easy to find, so the project teams can concentrate on delivering great work.

The Role

  • Own the day-to-day running of document control across live projects, keeping records and systems in good order
  • Make sure every drawing, report and piece of project information is logged correctly, named properly and sitting at the right version
  • Issue information through the document management platforms on time and keep the process running smoothly
  • Act as the point of contact for consultants, supply chain partners and their document controllers, coordinating submissions and keeping everyone’s records aligned
  • Chase up open transmittals, reviews and approvals, and raise anything that’s stalling with the relevant project leads
  • Run regular data checks so that what’s on the system is consistent, accurate and current
  • Be the go-to person for colleagues with questions about information management and the systems behind it
  • Spot where processes could work better and put forward ideas to improve them

About You

  • Highly organised, with a genuine eye for detail
  • Comfortable communicating with people at all levels, both inside the practice and externally
  • Able to keep several deadlines moving at once without letting anything slip
  • Keen to learn new systems and quick to take the initiative
  • Confident in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and SharePoint
  • Interested in data, information management or project administration as a career path
  • A background in administration – Experience within the Built environment (Beneficial)
  • Experience with Common Data Environments (CDE) or Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) from the design and construction sector. (Full training will be provided)

The successful candidate will earn a salary up to £29,000 – Hybrid and flexible work arrangements and an industry leading benefits package.
