Part 2 Architectural Assistant

Conrad Consulting is working in partnership with an emerging and rapidly growing architectural practice that is seeking a talented Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join its close-knit team of architectural professionals.

This is a remote-based role, ideally suited to a Part 2 Architectural Assistant located within reasonable travelling distance of Leeds or West Yorkshire, as the practice operates a co-working smart hub used for client meetings and collaborative team sessions. These typically take place fortnightly or monthly.

About the Practice

The practice specialises in the design and delivery of highly serviced healthcare and pharmaceutical buildings for both public and private health providers across the UK. Projects typically include acute healthcare schemes and specialist mental health facilities, with values ranging from £1m to £15m.

The studio is led by two experienced Directors and two Associates, supported by a friendly and ambitious team of Architects and Technicians. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and growth-focused, with clear progression pathways available for all team members.

The Role

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant with 1-2 years' experience within a UK architectural practice to gain exposure to projects across all RIBA stages. Working closely with senior team members, you will contribute to projects from concept design through to technical delivery and construction phase support.

The successful candidate will have a strong design and technical foundation, a proactive attitude, and a genuine desire to continue developing their professional experience towards Part 3 qualification and registration.

You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative remote team, with opportunities to attend client meetings, site visits, and consultant coordination sessions as your experience develops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of architectural projects across all RIBA stages
  • Produce high-quality design, planning, and technical drawing packages
  • Support the coordination of design and construction information
  • Assist with the preparation of planning, Building Regulations, and tender submissions
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, and construction phase activities alongside senior colleagues
  • Contribute to technical detailing and specification writing (NBS experience beneficial)
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients under the guidance of senior team members
  • Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations, technical standards, and CDM requirements
  • Support project teams in meeting programme and project deliverables

Skills & Experience

  • RIBA Part 2 qualified Architectural Assistant
  • Minimum 1-2 years' professional experience within a UK architectural practice
  • Experience working on projects across a range of RIBA stages
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction technology
  • Proficiency in Revit is essential (AutoCAD experience advantageous)
  • Strong design, technical, and communication skills
  • Healthcare and/or pharmaceutical sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Positive, collaborative, and proactive approach to work
  • Ambitious and motivated to progress towards Part 3 qualification
