Conrad Consulting is currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a global organisation delivering major hyperscale data centre projects across the UK, EMEA and APAC.
This is a client-side position where you will take the procurement lead across a portfolio of construction, MEP, equipment and professional services packages.
Working alongside delivery partners including PMCs and main contractors, you will oversee the full procurement process from RFP through tender evaluation, commercial review and contract award.
The role is predominantly remote, although some travel to London and overseas locations will be required when necessary.
The Role
As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring procurement packages are commercially robust, compliant and delivered in line with the wider construction programme.
Key responsibilities will include:

Managing procurement packages from RFP through to contract award.

Reviewing procurement strategies, plans and package schedules.

Reviewing tender documentation including scope, pricing schedules, evaluation criteria and contract conditions.

Attending supplier clarification meetings and managing bidder queries.

Reviewing bid levelling, commercial analysis and tender scoring.
-
Assessing contract award recommendations for compliance, value and commercial risk.
-
Managing contract awards through internal approval and governance processes.

Maintaining procurement schedules against construction programme requirements.

Identifying and escalating delays or risks that could impact package delivery.

Monitoring manufacturing slots, lead times and delivery risks for long-lead equipment.

Supporting the procurement of generators, UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, cooling systems and other critical MEP equipment.

Managing procurement of consultants and professional services.

Providing weekly reporting on package status, risks and key decisions.

Capturing lessons learned and applying them across future projects and regions.
About You
We are looking for an experienced procurement or commercial professional with a strong background in major construction, engineering or mission-critical projects.
Ideally, you will have:

10+ years' experience within construction or engineering procurement or commercial management.

Previous experience personally managing tenders from RFP through to contract award.

Experience gained with a PMC, main contractor, hyperscale data centre operator or colocation provider.

Data centre or other mission-critical project experience.

Strong knowledge of construction and MEP procurement.

Experience procuring long-lead electrical and mechanical equipment.

Experience procuring professional services and consultancy packages.
-
Working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC and/or JCT contracts.

Strong bid levelling, tender evaluation and commercial analysis experience.

Advanced Excel skills.

Experience working across multiple countries within EMEA and/or APAC.

Previous leadership or management experience.

Full right to work in the UK.
MCIPS, MRICS or an equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous, as would experience using procurement systems such as Ariba or Coupa.
