SENIOR / PRINCIPAL GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a highly regarded construction engineering team in London, working on some of the capital’s most complex and technically challenging projects.

This is a role for an engineer who enjoys being involved from the early stages of a project through to construction, developing practical geotechnical solutions that work in the real world.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering geotechnical analysis and design across feasibility, tender and live project stages, with a particular focus on complex temporary works. Projects will involve challenging ground conditions, demanding construction environments and technically interesting engineering problems.

Key responsibilities will include developing innovative and buildable solutions, reviewing and interpreting ground investigation information, identifying and managing geotechnical risks, and ensuring designs are practical, efficient and aligned with construction methodologies.

Close collaboration with project, construction and temporary works teams will be a major part of the role, providing the opportunity to influence projects well beyond the traditional design function.

Candidates should have significant UK geotechnical design experience, ideally gained within a consultancy or contractor environment, together with a strong understanding of geotechnical design codes, analysis and engineering principles. Experience using WALLAP and PLAXIS 2D would be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be technically strong but also commercially and practically minded, with the confidence to challenge design briefs, communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and develop solutions that can be successfully delivered on site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer looking to take on greater responsibility and become a key contributor to a team delivering some of London's most challenging construction projects.

If you're looking for a role where your technical expertise genuinely influences projects from concept through to construction, this could be an excellent next career move.
