An established and forward-thinking engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an ambitious Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to join its growing Birmingham team. This is a role with genuine progression potential, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work towards Associate level while playing an increasingly influential role within the business.
The position offers an exciting balance of technical delivery, project leadership and business development. The successful engineer will take ownership of structural projects across a diverse portfolio, while also becoming increasingly involved in client engagement, networking and developing new business opportunities. Working closely with senior leadership, there will be plenty of scope to build a strong professional profile and establish key client relationships.
Projects are varied and technically interesting, typically valued at £10m+, with work spanning sectors including defence, higher education and industrial developments. Many schemes are delivered on fast-track programmes, providing an excellent mix of design, surveys, client interaction and site-based activity.
The consultancy is keen to hear from a Chartered or near-Chartered Structural Engineer who combines strong technical capability with excellent communication skills and a genuine ambition to progress. The ability to build rapport with clients, represent the business confidently at meetings and events, and support the development of less experienced engineers will be important. Due to the nature of some projects, candidates will also need to be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance.
