An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Architect to join a well-established and highly regarded architectural practice based in Birmingham city centre.
With over 30 years of experience, this is a collaborative and design-focused practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality architectural solutions across a diverse range of sectors. Their portfolio spans Industrial & Logistics, Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Leisure, Community, Heritage and High Security, meaning there is plenty of variety in the work and opportunities to broaden your experience.
That said, the bulk of this role will focus on Industrial & Logistics and Commercial projects, making it particularly well suited to an Architect with a strong background in these sectors.
The Role
As a Senior Architect, you will take a key role in the delivery of a variety of exciting projects, working closely with clients, consultants and the wider design team.
The practice has extensive expertise across the Industrial & Logistics sector, delivering everything from smaller extensions through to advanced manufacturing facilities exceeding 200,000 sq ft, as well as large-scale site masterplans. Their Commercial portfolio includes offices, retail, mixed-use developments, refurbishments and extensions, working predominantly with private-sector clients.
You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute to design development and help deliver schemes from concept through to completion, whilst working within a supportive and collaborative studio environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of projects, predominantly across Industrial & Logistics and Commercial sectors
- Develop high-quality architectural solutions that balance design, functionality and the needs of the end user
- Take responsibility for projects through relevant RIBA stages and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants and contractors
- Produce and oversee design information, drawings and technical documentation
- Contribute to planning, technical development and project delivery
- Attend client and design team meetings and build strong professional relationships
- Support and mentor more junior members of the team
- Collaborate with colleagues across architecture, BIM, sustainability, interiors, project management and other disciplines
- Contribute to the continued development of the practice and its design-led approach
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Architect or Senior Architect with a strong track record within UK architectural practice.
You will ideally have experience working on Industrial & Logistics and/or Commercial projects, although candidates from other sectors with strong technical and project delivery experience will also be considered.
Revit proficiency would be highly desirable, alongside a good understanding of BIM and the ability to produce and coordinate high-quality technical information.
You should be confident working independently, managing your own workload and taking responsibility for projects, whilst also being a collaborative team player. Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach are important, as is a genuine passion for delivering well-designed, functional and sustainable buildings.
