Senior Architectural Technologist

A Senior Architectural Technologist is required to join an AJ100 Multi-disciplinary Architectural Consultancy in Sheffield.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, the practice is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist with proven job-running capability to play a key role in delivering high-quality architectural projects. This is a hands-on, senior technical position suited to someone who can take ownership of projects, coordinate effectively with internal and external teams, and deliver robust technical solutions from early stages through to completion.

Role: Senior Architectural Technologist

The Senior Architectural Technologist will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of projects, producing coordinated drawing packages, managing site stages, and ensuring high standards of quality, compliance and technical accuracy. You will play a crucial part in supporting the architectural team through all RIBA stages, helping to deliver innovative and sustainable design solutions.

Expected Duties

  • Lead the technical delivery of architectural projects, acting as a job runner across multiple schemes.
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders from briefing through to project completion.
  • Attend design team, site and client meetings as required.
  • Produce, review and coordinate detailed technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation using Archicad.
  • Oversee and mentor junior technologists, supporting the development of technical output within the team.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal architectural, landscape and interior design teams to ensure fully integrated solutions.
  • Prepare and/or supervise RIBA Stage documentation, reports, schedules and technical submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with current UK Building Regulations, standards, legislation and best practice.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and technical detailing.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring delivery within agreed programme, scope and budget.
  • Assist with fee preparation and maintain awareness of project financials.
  • Support wider business development initiatives and contribute positively to the practice’s technical excellence and reputation.

Salary & Benefits
