Building Surveyor / Senior Building Surveyor
Location: Central London Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + benefits
Conrad Consulting is proud to be partnering with a respected multidisciplinary consultancy as they seek an experienced Building Surveyor / Senior Building Surveyor to join their expanding Central London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a client‑focused professional to work across a diverse portfolio, delivering high‑quality surveying, refurbishment, retrofit, and building safety projects.
The Role
You will play a key role within a dynamic Building Surveying division, contributing to a wide range of commercial, residential, heritage, and public‑sector projects. The role offers significant variety, autonomy, and the chance to support junior colleagues while helping shape the continued growth of the team.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake Condition Surveys, Building Surveys, and Due Diligence assessments

Prepare Schedules of Condition, Licences to Alter, and Feasibility Studies

Lead refurbishment and design work, including technical specifications

Carry out EWS (External Wall System) visual and intrusive surveys

Deliver EWS remedial projects

Manage Contract Administration, Project Management, and Employer’s Agent duties

Support Planned Preventative Maintenance and Asset Management programmes

Conduct Reactive Maintenance surveys and diagnose building pathology

Undertake Statutory Reviews (Health & Safety, Fire, Equality Act)

Advise on Planning, Building Control, Heritage, and Listed Building matters

Provide Party Wall advice (desirable but not essential)

Produce clear, concise reports and maintain high professional standards
Skills & Experience Required
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the property or construction industry

MRICS, FRICS, AssocRICS, or working towards chartership

Strong background in private practice preferred

Solid understanding of commercial construction and project delivery

Experience preparing and administering construction contracts

Excellent written, verbal, and numerical communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Capable of mentoring junior colleagues

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Full, clean UK driving licence
