A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a well-established and highly respected property consultancy in Cornwall.
This role would suit a Chartered Surveyor (or an experienced surveyor working towards chartership) looking to take on a varied workload across building pathology, expert witness matters, boundary disputes and professional surveying services. You'll be joining a busy team with an excellent reputation across Cornwall and the wider South West, working with a diverse client base ranging from private individuals and property owners to commercial clients and legal professionals. The practice is known for its expertise in building surveys, defect investigation, dispute resolution and expert witness work.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical surveying work, client interaction and the variety that comes with handling complex property matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking a range of residential and commercial building surveys
- Carrying out building pathology and defect investigations
- Preparing expert witness reports and supporting dispute resolution matters
- Advising clients on boundary disputes and property-related issues
- Producing clear and concise technical reports
- Managing projects from instruction through to completion
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting junior team members where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- MRICS qualified, or working towards chartership
- Strong experience within Building Surveying consultancy/private practice
- Excellent knowledge of building pathology and construction defects
- Experience preparing technical reports and client advice
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- Experience in expert witness work, dispute resolution or boundary matters would be advantageous
