Conrad Consulting is working with a highly respected property and construction consultancy that is looking to strengthen its London team with an experienced Senior Building Surveyor.
This is a project-biased role, ideal for a Building Surveyor who enjoys getting involved in the delivery of refurbishment, maintenance and construction projects rather than focusing solely on professional surveying instructions.
You’ll work with a broad range of commercial property clients, managing projects from initial scope and specification through to tender, contract administration and completion.
The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll take responsibility for delivering a varied portfolio of building surveying projects, including:
- Project management of refurbishment, alteration and maintenance schemes
- Contract administration and employer's agent services
- Preparing specifications, schedules and tender documentation
- Managing competitive tender processes and contractor appointments
- Carrying out regular site inspections and monitoring progress
- Managing project costs, programmes and reporting
- Identifying and advising on building defects and remedial works
- Preparing planned maintenance and capital expenditure programmes
- Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and professional teams
- Supporting junior surveyors and contributing to the continued development of the team
The role offers excellent exposure to a variety of commercial, residential, retail and mixed-use properties, with the opportunity to work on interesting and technically challenging projects across London and the wider South East.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who has developed a strong project delivery background and is confident managing projects from inception through to completion.
You’ll ideally have:
- MRICS qualification
- Strong experience in building surveying and project management
- Proven experience delivering refurbishment and alteration projects
- Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts and contract administration
- Strong specification writing and tendering experience
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
- A commercial approach and strong attention to detail
