Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Glasgow / Central Scotland

A leading Scottish contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Working across civil engineering, utilities and infrastructure projects, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
The business has a strong forward workload and offers an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for greater responsibility, career progression and the chance to work on a varied project portfolio.
Responsibilities:

Commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

Manage project budgets, costs, forecasts and financial reporting.

Prepare monthly valuations and applications for payment.

Manage subcontract procurement and subcontractor accounts.

Review and negotiate subcontract terms.

Identify, manage and maximise commercial opportunities.

Manage variations, compensation events and change control.
-
Prepare and agree final accounts.

Monitor project performance and commercial risk.

Work closely with Project Managers and site teams.

Liaise with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.

Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils, utilities or infrastructure.

Experience working on NEC contracts.

Strong commercial and contractual understanding.

Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong analytical and organisational abilities.

Relevant commercial qualification preferred.
