This is a hands-on technical role ideally suited to someone who enjoys getting to the heart of complex structural issues, making informed engineering judgements and producing clear, robust technical reports. You’ll be confident working with minimal supervision, comfortable taking ownership of your workload and ready to make an immediate contribution.
You’ll have substantial experience in structural inspections, risk assessments, and the investigation of existing buildings, including carrying out invasive investigations on site to establish the condition and integrity of structural elements. You’ll be confident interpreting findings, identifying potential risks and translating your technical conclusions into accurate, meaningful reports.
An understanding of the Building Safety Act and the challenges associated with High-Risk Buildings would be highly advantageous.
Chartered status, or being close to achieving it, is essential. Just as importantly, you’ll be self-motivated, commercially aware and capable of working independently, managing site-based investigations and delivering high-quality technical outputs without the need for close supervision. Strong communication skills are vital, as you’ll be liaising directly with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
