Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Leeds, offering an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Engineer to take ownership of projects, lead technical delivery and mentor developing engineers within a collaborative, associate-led environment.
This is a hands-on technical role combining complex structural design with project management, client liaison and team leadership. You’ll work across a varied portfolio of new-build and refurbishment projects, applying your expertise in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber design.
You’ll lead projects from feasibility through to detailed design, producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports. You’ll also manage project budgets, coordinate consultants and contractors, undertake structural surveys and site inspections, support bids and proposals, and help develop junior members of the team.
The ideal candidate will have strong UK consultancy experience, excellent technical and communication skills, and a thorough understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes, CDM regulations and construction detailing. Experience with design software, client management and ISO 19650 processes is also important.
Chartered status with ICE or IStructE is highly desirable, alongside a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Experience using SCIA or Tekla Building Designer would be an advantage.
