About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of infrastructure, utilities and water projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of projects.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, subcontractors and wider site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction sites.

  • Lead and manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed programmes.

  • Manage site activities from mobilisation through to completion.

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.

  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.

  • Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays.

  • Liaise closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Quantity Surveyors.

  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times.

  • Review and implement RAMS, permits and site documentation.

  • Maintain accurate site records, diaries and progress reports.

  • Monitor the quality of works and ensure required standards are maintained.

  • Attend site meetings and liaise with clients and other project stakeholders.

  • Assist with the management of costs, variations and commercial matters.

  • Ensure environmental requirements are followed throughout the project.

  • Identify and resolve site issues quickly and effectively.

  • Provide leadership and support to junior members of the site team.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience working as a Site Manager within civil engineering or construction.

  • Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, water, roads, earthworks or similar projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and site management processes.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams.

  • Good understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage programmes and deliver projects to agreed deadlines.

  • SMSTS qualification.

  • CSCS qualification.

  • First Aid qualification.

  • Relevant HNC/HND or equivalent industry experience would be advantageous.

  • Full UK driving licence.
