Our client is seeking a structural engineer who has at least 3 years’ UK experience, although applications from candidates with slightly more or less experience will be considered for the right person.
This is a role for an engineer who wants to be involved in more than just calculations. The successful candidate will have a client-facing, project-running role, working closely with clients, architects and other professionals throughout the life of a project. Strong communication skills, a confident and presentable manner and a genuine interest in engineering and buildings are therefore essential.
A large part of the workload involves refurbishment, re-use and the transformation of existing buildings, often requiring investigation and an understanding of a building’s history before developing the right engineering solution. The practice also works on historic and Listed buildings, complex sites and technically challenging projects where creative thinking, careful detailing and sound engineering judgement are particularly important.
Projects range is size and go up to £20m in value, including residential, healthcare and office plus many more.
The role offers considerable flexibility in how engineers manage their workload, although the team generally works from the London office four days per week. This collaborative approach allows engineers to share knowledge, develop ideas and work closely together on some genuinely interesting projects.
In return, our client offers salary packages at the higher end of industry rates for the right candidate, together with a target bonus, which has consistently been paid along with generous pension scheme.
