Our client is seeking a talented Structural Technician to join its growing engineering team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious technician with a solid grounding in structural engineering design to develop their technical skills while working on a diverse range of high-quality projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with Chartered, senior and graduate engineers, contributing to the production of structural drawings and BIM models for a varied portfolio of developments. Projects are likely to include bespoke new-build schemes, building refurbishments, heritage and conservation work, providing excellent exposure to a wide range of structural systems and construction methods.
The role will involve producing accurate concept, preliminary and detailed drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. The Structural Technician will interpret engineers’ sketches, calculations and design information, develop coordinated models and drawings, and assist with the resolution of technical detailing issues. They will work collaboratively with engineers and other members of the design team to ensure that project information is accurate, coordinated and delivered to the required standards.
Candidates should have experience working as a Structural Technician within a consultancy environment and be confident using Revit and AutoCAD. A good understanding of structural detailing and construction principles is required, together with the ability to produce clear, accurate and well-presented technical drawings.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, reliable and eager to develop their career. They will demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective communication skills and the ability to manage their workload while working as part of a wider engineering team. A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently when required will also be important.
